11th Annual U.C. Berkeley Social Justice Symposium

  • Martin Luther King Middle 1781 Rose St, Berkeley, California 94703 (map)

In this hands-on session, participants will learn and explore Design Thinking for Social Justice, a framework for understanding and addressing complex issues of social inequity.
Participants will use the DT4SJ framework to understand how to address inequities associated with environmental racism. We will incorporate elements of reflexivity, praxis, and procedural justice as we seek to equip participants with specific creative problem solving skills adapted to address the political and power dynamics inherent to environmental racism. Participants will walk away with a transferrable understanding of how to apply design thinking in their own social justice work.
